Tensions Caught On Camera In Weird Interaction Between Chris Kreider and Rangers Coach
Chris Kreider hasn't been at his best this season, and it's been a major hinderance for this team, and now it's leading to great tension with coach Peter Laviolette after a recent video has surfaced of them at practice.
The 2024/25 season has been a wild ride for the New York Rangers, with Chris Kreider struggling just as much as anyone on the roster, even being healthy scratched earlier in the year in the midst of plenty of trade speculation.
While things have quieted down on that front in recent times with the team even turning around their struggles in a big way, it appears that the tensions haven't gone away, with a video of a recent Rangers practice emerging of an awkward interaction between Kreider and Head Coach Peter Laviolette.
There has long been speculation that Laviolette isn't respected in New York like other coaches have been, and given that No. 20 wouldn't even look at the coach while he was trying to talk to him, it appears as though that may 100% be the case after all, with both potentially frustrated with how things are going.
After career seasons in recent years, Kreider has struggled to score this season, tallying just 17 goals and 21 points in 48 games in 2024/25, and as a result, the Rangers find themselves on the outside looking in at a Stanley Cup Playoffs position this year.
Sure, this video may have simply been taken out of context, as the two could have been talking well just moments before this, but given the rising tensions in New York and what may happen if they do miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season, it's hard to ignore, with Kreider's time in New York potentially coming to an end.
