Edmonton Fans Act Like Babies And Litter The Ice With Garbage After Game One Loss
Game one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs did not go the way the Edmonton Oilers wanted. The Oilers were up 2-0 going into the third period and led 3-1 with just over ten minutes to go in the game. However, the Oilers couldn't hang on and lost the game in overtime 4-3. The Kings stayed patient, took advantage of their opportunities, tied the game late with seconds left, and won it in overtime. It was a tough way to start the playoffs of the Oilers for sure.
The most disturbing part of the evening was when the Oiler fans decided to litter the ice with garbage after the loss. One beer can nearly hit Anze Kopitar in the head. What a classless move by Oiler fans. Sure, the game didn't go the way they would have liked but it's one game. This series is a long way from being over. I don't think anyone was expecting a sweep between these two well balanced teams. The Kings are a very good team and Kopitar has been a star in this league for a long time. To throw beer cans at Kopitar and garbage at other players is completely unacceptable. The Kings should start game two with a power play in my opinion. It is time for Edmonton fans to grow up and show some class. You have two of the game's biggest stars and a chance at the Stanley Cup. One game in and you're acting like a bunch of two-year-old's. Check out the videos for the replay after the game was over.
