The Vancouver Canucks have been off to a great start in 2024/25, and while some of their top names have struggled, they've won three straight and now sit at 7-2-3 on the season. Their latest win came on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Kings, but it wasn't the cleanest of victories, as one moment in particular in this game stood out involving Brock Boeser and Tanner Jeannot.
During the game, the veteran forward looked to make an impact without the puck, but instead he would hit Boeser directly in the head in one of the dirtiest plays we've seen all season long thus far.
Unsurprisingly, Jeannot was ejected from the game immediately given he clearly targeted the head of Boeser, and not only that, but it was a very late and unnecessary hit that could lead to missed games for the Canucks forward. Following the hit, Canucks fans on social media called for him to be suspended, and at this point, it's almost a guarantee that this will result in missed games for Jeannot, as the league are trying to rub this out of the game.
Fortunately for Vancouver, they would go on to win the game despite the highly illegal play from Jeannot, with the veteran forward now facing immense backlash on social media. Ultimately, there's just absolutely no need for this type of action in hockey, as Jeannot could have just as easily checked Boeser to the body to make an impact, but he went straight for the head and now the Canucks forward is in danger of missing time, so hopefully the upcoming suspension allows him time to think about this type of disgusting action.
