The Nashville Predators clearly aren't going to be sellers despite their struggles, and now they're pushing hard to land Dylan Cozens of the Buffalo Sabres as the team have dropped 11 straight games and make be looking to make a drastic change.

This season hasn't gone the way that anyone in Nashville would have expected, as the team sits in last place in the Western Conference as the holiday period (and NHL roster freeze) quickly approaches.

Yesterday it was revealed that the team have no plans to trade star forward Steven Stamkos, with the team in fact insisting that they'll be buyers as they look to get back into the Stanley Cup Playoffs race.

That has been solidified by the latest report from Michael Gallagher, who reveals that the team are pushing hard to acquire young Sabres star Dylan Cozens by tonight, with the roster freeze set to begin on December 20th.

This comes on the heels of reports from Elliotte Friedman that Cozens is drawing significant interest around the league, and at 23-years of age, it certainly makes sense for teams to be interested in him.

After a career high 68 points in the 2022/23 campaign, Cozens has just 14 points in 32 games this season, but with Barry Trotz' latest comments, Cozens could be the perfect target for them.

"Don't be surprised. If there's the right piece, I'm going to add it. I want to make our team better. I'm not happy with where we are, but I realize where we are."

Ultimately, Nashville aren't the only team in on Cozens, who is locked up on a long-term deal, but with the Sabres likely not listening on many trades thus far after Terry Pegula's recent message to the team, it's hard to see him moved tonight.
