One team to keep an eye on over the next few weeks is the Nashville Predators and they have potentially one of the biggest players available for trade - goaltender Juuse Saros.
According to Michael Gallagher of Nashville Hockey Now, the Predators and Saros situation is getting a bit more serious than them just taking calls and the potential of him being moved before Friday, March 8th is growing.
With where the Predators are in the standings, fifth in the Central Division and only two points back of the Los Angeles Kings for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, moving Saros doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the present time. Realistically, if the Predators make the playoffs, it'll be as a Wild Card team, which means they'll face the top team in either the Pacific or the Central Division, likely Vancouver and one of Dallas, Colorado or Winnipeg, and they'll need Saros badly if they'll want to advance.
On the other hand, the return in a potential Saros trade would be massive for the Predators, who have a pretty decent prospect pool and future ahead, especially with Yaroslav Askarov between the pipes, who is playing out of this world in the American Hockey League currently with the Milwaukee Admirals.
In 42 games this season for the Predators, Saros has a record of 20-20-2 with a 2.97 goals against average, a .903 save percentage and two shutouts.
