After plenty of speculation this past summer, the Pittsburgh Penguins finally got a deal done with captain Sidney Crosby, signing him to a two-year extension that many believe will keep him in Pittsburgh until he retires.
With that and the rest of their off-season moves, the team expected to be competing for a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but with a 6-9-2 record after being beaten 7-1 by the Dallas Stars, things could be changing.
Looking at the landscape of the Eastern Conference, it's tough to see where the Penguins could even slide into the Stanley Cup Playoffs at any point this season with 11 teams ahead of them already in the standings.
The worst of it came on Monday night however as the team surrendered 7 goals to the Stars, and with it, some wild reactions on social media.
The most intriguing of all however came from the hosts of Spittin Chiclets, with Ryan Whitney first suggesting the team may have to do something drastic in the near future.
Then came Paul Bissonnette, who outright stated what many believe should happen, suggesting the team should move him to Colorado to play with fellow Nova Scotia native and superstar Nathan MacKinnon.
Unfortunately for the fans, it's highly likely that the team will hold onto No. 87 for the remainder of his career, and given how much they've struggled, that could potentially mean we've seen the last of him in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Things can certainly change if the team continues to struggle, with Crosby's deal certainly not a hard one to move, but for now, this is just a pipe dream for Biz and hockey fans alike.
