Luke Schenn explains why his friendship with Pat Maroon means nothing on the ice
Last night, the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Toronto Maple Leafs met in a first round preview and even thought thd Leafs were without their stars, the game was still hotly contested.
In the first period former teammates Pat Maroon and Luke Schenn dropped the gloves. According to Mark Masters of TSN, Schenn explained what that was like after the game, take a look:
Luke Schenn on Pat Maroon: I talked to him this morning How's your family?' & that sort of thing when you win together in any sport you'll be friends for life but ,in saying that, it's competitive out there no problem flipping the switch & they're doing the same
When you win a Stanley Cup with someone, it has to bring two players together for life, but being able to turn that off in game is important. Especially if you're trying to go on another run with Toronto.
Say what you will about the Luke Schenn acquisition, it's something the Maple Leafs as a team sorely needed. A hard hitting mean defender who won't let anything get in the way of another pursuit of the Cup.
