Kyle Dubas finally admits he's open to trading a member of the Core Four
Throughout his tenure with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Kyle Dubas has been unwaveringly loyal to the Core Four. It began with his proclamation, "We can and we will!" and it remained his operating practice right through last season's game 7 loss. Now after a heartbreaking second round exit Dubas may have finally seen the light.
Today during his end of season press conference Dubas took the time to address his future. And despite not having a contract for next season, he addressed the matter of the Toronto Maple Leafs' Core Four. In the past, Kyle has been completely opposed publicly to trading one of the players, today however, he shared each finally opened up to the idea.
When asked about the Core Four, Dubas offered the following answer:
I would consider anything with our group here, that would allow us a better chance to win the Stanley Cup. I would take nothing off the table at all. And I think everything would have to be considered.
Dubas took the time to confirm that his intentions for next season are to be the general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs or to take time off to spend with his family. He certainly appeared to be committed to the team long term as he answered questions about what was next.
