Terrible Injury News Revealed by Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Rick Tocchet on Captain Quinn Hughes
The Vancouver Canucks revealed today that captain Quinn Hughes is not traveling with the team to San Jose.
The Vancouver Canucks are in turmoil right now as they integrate a plethora of new players into their roster on the fly.
The team is desperately trying to stay relevant in the playoff race after winning the Pacific Division last year.
Unfortunately though, head coach Rick Tocchet revealed today that the team will be without their most important player tomorrow night yet again.
Of course, that would be Quinn Hughes, who is not only the captain, but he is also the team's leading scorer with 14 goals and 59 points through 47 games.
Tocchet said today that Hughes will not be traveling with the team for their one-game road trip to San Jose.
This will be the third straight game Hughes has missed. The team is 1-0-1 so far in his absence.
Of course, this also has implications for the upcoming Four Nations tournament which starts in just a week's time.
Hughes is expected to lead Team USA's defense for that event, but if he is injured that could be a big blow to the team.
Hughes' agent has stated that he still intends to play in the tournament but he only has so much control over that situation.
After all, the Canucks may very well make Hughes stay home and rest if this injury really is bothering him that much.
Canucks fans seem to believe that this would be the best thing for him and the team this season.
The team does have one more game before the break this Saturday when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs.
If Hughes misses that one it is safe to say he won't be playing in the tournament, but if he is back in the lineup all bets are off.
