Tomas Hertl to make Golden Knights debut on Monday night
After missing over two months of action, it appears that Tomas Hertl's return is imminent and that he will make his Vegas Golden Knights debut tonight.
Over the weekend, it was reported that Hertl would be traveling with the Golden Knights for their two-game road trip to Canada as they continue their push towards clinching a playoff spot.
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, Tomas Hertl will make his Vegas Golden Knights debut tonight as they take on the Vancouver Canucks in a potential playoff preview.
"Tomas Hertl is expected to make his #VegasBorn debut tonight against Vancouver; coach Bruce Cassidy will confirm later today. The Knights have 6 games left in the regular-season." Pagnotta said.
Hertl, 30, has been out since late-January after undergoing surgery on his left knee to remove loose cartilage. Before his injury, he was playing quite well for a Sharks team that sat at the bottom of the National Hockey League standings.
Prior to being traded to the Vegas Golden Knights by the San Jose Sharks, Hertl had 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists), 22 penalty mintues and was a minus-26 in 48 games.
It'll be interesting to see where the Golden Knights slot Hertl in their lineup. To ease him back into things, he could play in a bottom-six role and as the playoffs begin, he could be elevated back to playing top-six minutes. The Golden Knights are now waiting for when they'll have their captain Mark Stone back in the lineup, but it could come at some point during the playoffs.
