Alex Lafreniere leaves Mark Friedman shaken after a big hit into the glass
In the first period, with 8:24 left, Lafrenière checked Mark Friedman into the boards and he left the bench. No penalty was assessed on the play, though it appeared like it could be boarding.
Lafrenière doesn't have a history of penalties in the NHL since he's still green, but for someone whose skilled, I didn't expect it out of him.
This hit is more characteristic of a frustrated Nikita Kucherov in 2019 getting Swept by a Wild Card team.
The Rangers went on to win the Game and extend this series to 7 games.
