Wednesday night's preseason game between the Arizona Coyotes and the Anaheim Ducks showed us why some fans hate these games. Yes it's a great way to kick the rust off the skates, and at the same time it's a great way to see what the players worked on during the summer.

Preseason games also come with some serious risk. It also give us moments where players who will end up outside of the NHL are put in positions to injury everyday roster players. That's what appears to have happened to Anaheim Duck's star forward Trevor Zegras.

On Wednesday night Zegras was on the receiving end of a center ice hit by Jan Jenik that rocked him. The hit sent Zegras to the ice and ended his night.

The Anaheim Ducks tweeted out today that Coach Eakins and the medical staff have sent Trevor Zegras to receive more in depth tests and will reevaluate his time away from the game so he can be fully healthy when he returns.

It's clear this could be a significant injury, especially as the Ducks look for additional opinions and information on the subject. Hopefully Zegras makes a quick and full recovery.
