The Arizona Coyotes have been Gary Bettman's baby and the laughing stock of the National Hockey League, but is it possible the move to Mullet Arena is the best thing for the team?

According to ESPN's Greg Wyshynski the move to the 5,000 seat capacity arena has already paid dividends for the organization.

The Coyotes say their season ticket revenue is up 50%, passing what they made in revenue when the team was in Glendale. Coyotes President and CEO Xavier A. Gutierrez talked about the excitement surrounding the season.

"We're still very confident that we have the right deal, the right project and the right ownership group to get it done

Gutierrez continued his glowing review and admiration of ticket sales by saying:

We know this is going to be sold out for every single game and we never had any doubt that was going to be the case. We could have sold this out to our existing season-ticket base, but we didn't think that was the right approach. We want to make sure that fans who have never experienced a game could experience it. That's a very tricky thing when you've downsized capacity.

This might end up being fantastic for Arizona, but does anyone else get the feeling that their President and CEO is trying to paint a picture that the grass is always greener without knowing this will work in the long run?

We'll see how this plays out soon enough, but to me, this seems odd.
