Big boys drop the gloves as Casey Cizikas and Ross Johnson go toe-to-toe in a lengthy tilt
Sunday night the New York Islanders faced off against the Chicago Blackhawks. The two teams are headed in opposite directions, as the Islanders push for the playoffs and the Blackhawks plan for a full rebuild. During the first period of Sunday night's game, both teams were looking for a boost as they tried to set the tone early.
Less then 3 minutes into the game, Casey Cizikas and Ross Johnson paired off with one and other. The two dropped the gloves and took part in a lengthy scrap, which saw the two separate at one point before skating around the linesmen to finish what they started. Cizikas eventually landed the take down as the two were clearly exhausted.
Both men were given 5 minute majors and a deserved rest after the conclusion of the fight. The Islanders went on to win the game 3-0, and both teams clearly appreciated the efforts from their tough guys.
