Jayson Megna claimed off of waivers, while 2 other players are placed on them including former 19th overall pick
Yesterday the Colorado Avalanche placed Jayson Megna and Alex Galchenyuk on waviers to make room for the returning Artturi Lehkonen. Unfortunately last night the Avalanche lost Nathan MacKinnon to injury, making the entire situation slightly more complicated. Today it was announced that the Anaheim Ducks had elected to claim Megna off of waivers, while Galchenyuk cleared.
Today the Winnipeg Jets and San Jose Sharks also elected to place players on waivers. The Sharks have placed former 19th overall pick Evgeny Svechnikov on waivers. Svechnikov signed with the Sharks this summer, but has never found a spot in their lineup. In 20 games he only has 3 goals and 3 assists.
The Winnipeg Jets have also placed Dominic Toninato on waivers. Toninato has only played 4 games for the Jets this season adding 1 assist during that time. Toninato was drafted 126th overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 2012 NHL Draft.
