When speaking with the media on Saturday, Foligno joked that it won't feel as much of a change going from Boston to Chicago because they both won the same amount of playoff series last season.
The Buffalo native was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks on June 26th, along with Taylor Hall from the Bruins, who were looking to clear some cap space before heading into free agency on Saturday.
There were rumours that the 35-year-old was going to hit the open market on July 1st, but less than 24 hours after being traded to 'The Windy City', Foligno signed a one-year contract for the 2023-24 season worth $4 million.
Foligno is joined by fellow veteran forward Corey Perry, who was traded to Chicago by Tampa Bay and signed an identical contract at one year for $4 million. The Blackhawks still have plenty more signings to come over the summer, but it looks like general manager Kyle Davidson is doing a great job at insulating Connor Bedard with a solid group of veterans.
