Brad Marchand protects Gavrikov and gets cross-checked for his troubles
Brad Marchand has a bit of a reputation around the league to say the least. But in the 3rd period of tonight's game he selflessly leapt over Gavrikov to avoid burying him into the boards. On a play where it looks like contact was unavoidable, Marchand jumped in the air to ensure he didn't hit Gavrikov from behind.
For all his troubles Gavrikov circled back and thanked Marchand with a very stiff and dirty cross check to the lower back.
There was no penalty on the play and the Bruins went on to win the game in overtime.
