Breaking News - Bruins lose major piece to NHL COVID protocol minutes before the game
The Boston Bruins are trailing the Carolina Hurricanes 2 games to 1 in their Eastern Conference Quarter Final matchup. Less than 30-minutes before the puck is set to drop the Bruins got extremely bad news. The Bruins announced that Charlie McAvoy will be unavailable to the team.
UPDATE: Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy has been placed in NHL COVID-19 protocol and will not be available for today's game.
Unlike in previous years we won't be getting any stories of players gutting out an illness to help bring their team a memorable victory. McAvoy is the Bruins best defender and after an injury to Hampus Lindholm the Bruins will be in tough.
McAvoy has 2 assists in 3 games for the Bruins this post season.
