Elias Pettersson Breaks Silence and Makes his Feelings Known on the JT Miller Trade to the New York Rangers
Elias Pettersson made his feelings known on the J.T. Miller trade to the New York Rangers following a 5-3 loss to the Dallas Stars on Friday night.
Yesterday, the Canucks faced the Dallas Stars for their first game since trading J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers, likely marking the end of the Pettersson-Miller feud era in Vancouver.
Unfortunately, things didn't go their way on the ice, and the team ended up losing 5-3 in Dallas.
After the game, many players were asked by reporters to comment on the Miller trade, with Pettersson among them.
Unsurprisingly, the forward didn't get into much detail, saying the team lost a skilled player, all he can do is look forward, and wish him the best.
In his own words:
"We lose our skillful power forward. Um, I mean, his play speaks for itself. So, yeah, all we can do now is look forward, um, wish him the best.
I don't want to get into that. I mean, uh, all we can do is look forward. I don't even know what to say, but all we can do is look forward"
Then he talked about some of the positives of his relationship with Miller, notably raising topics such as the two playoff runs, in his second season in the League and last year's:
"I think we've had some really good moments like the playoffs in my second year and then playoffs last year."
Finally, he talked about how much more pressure he gets now that the team lost its second center, revealing he wanted that pressure, even saying he should thank management for getting it:
"Yeah, of course. I mean, but then on this side, I want that pressure. And it's up to me to take it, or I should say thank you."
The Canucks will be back in action tomorrow against the Detroit Red Wings, looking to win their first game since the trade.
