A little over 12 hours after winning a World Juniors Gold Medal, Shane Wright has learned about his hockey future.

Having the spotlight shined down on you from a very young with massive expectations can either make or break a person, this is no different for those who are touted become professional hockey players

Shane Wright, who was expected to be drafted first overall last year has had a rocky introduction to the NHL and the Seattle Kraken organization for whom he was drafted by. The fourth overall pick in the 2022 Entry draft has suited up for eight NHL games while participating in five for Seattle's American Hockey League farm team, the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

Wright, who captained Team Canada to their second consecutive World Junior Hockey Championship Gold Medal where he contributed four goals along with three assists seems to have grown over the last two weeks and with that, a decision by the Kraken to reassign him to the Ontario Hockey League will be taking place very shortly.

It has been reported that the Kingston Frontenacs who hold Wrights OHL rights will be trading the centre to another team for the remainder of the season. Whatever happens, one is led to believe that his success in Moncton & Halifax should dictate to helping a contending team capture an OHL J. Ross Robertson Cup in the near future.
