The Boston Bruins are currently a team without a direction. The team currently in a holding pattern, despite rumors that both David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron will re-sign. Neither of those deals have come to fruition yet.

The Bruins were once considered one of the premier teams in the NHL. The Bruins were once considered perennial contenders. But despite having some of the NHL's top talent like Brad Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, David Pastrnak and Taylor Hall, the Bruins haven't had much success in the playoffs since losing to the St. Louis Blues in the 2019 Stanley Cup Final.

Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney is feeling the pressure to get the Bruins back into being a Stanley Cup contender.

Hockey Insider, Jimmy Murphy made an interesting suggestion. With Sweeney trying to bring back David Krejci, as well as Patrice Bergeron for one more year, Murphy suggested trying to acquire another former Bruin in Milan Lucic.

Lucic was a fan favorite in Boston and the 34-year-old is in the final year of his current contract that pays him $6 million dollars.
