Saturday night in Colorado the Avalanche faced off against the Dallas Stars in a Western Conference showdown. Two of the top teams in Central facing off always comes with a bit of animosity. That's exactly what happened late in the game.

With less than 2 minute left in the 3rd period, MacDonald delivers a huge hit to Joel Kiviranta. Luke Glendenning saw the hit and immediately instigated a fight with Colorado's Jacob MacDonald. Both players landed some solid shots before Glendenning pulled MacDonald to the ice.

After the fight the referees opted to issue Glendenning an excessive amount of penalty minutes. MacDonald received at 5 minute major for fighting while Glendenning was given 2 minutes for instigating, 5 for Fighting, a 10 minute misconduct and for good measures an additional game misconduct. Glendenning received a total of 27 minutes of penalties.

The Avalanche went onto win the game 4-1.
