Rick Nash was a highly skilled and sought-after power forward which the Columbus Blue Jackets traded up to acquire. During his time in Columbus, his prime however was wasted.

How does he measure up to the rest of the players in the NHL? Let's take a look.

Rick Nash was the 1st round pick for the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2002 and earned the Rocket Richard Trophy in his 2nd season and 15 years and 1,060 games putting up 437 goals and 805 points total.

His international career in the IIHF and World Olympics was far more successful during his time in the NHL, as he's captured a world title, 2 gold medals, and a silver in Quebec City with Team Canada. What's missing though is a Stanley Cup, during his time with the New York Rangers and Boston Bruins he made it to one Stanley Cup Finals appearance against the Los Angeles Kings in 2014.

The skilled winger had the ability to cut through defenders with his stick-handling and wowed audiences over the league many times. Nash produced far more offense than his teammates in Columbus, including David Vyborny and at one point produced 23% of all Columbus goals.

He deserves a shot at the Hall Of Fame in my opinion, as the odd man out on a losing squad in Columbus, it's just ashamed his prime was wasted there.
