With the Anaheim Ducks 5-points out of a playoff spot and only a few days from the trade deadline, they have started to protect their most valuable trade assets.
After contract extension talks with Hampus Lindholm broke down, the Ducks are now planning on moving him. Lindholm is a solid defenceman that would add depth to whichever team can add him. Right now he should be teams number one target who want to upgrade their defence.
Rickard Rakell is a player that could upgrade any team's top 9. He is a player whose style fits well with the more physical tone the playoffs bring. Rakell is in the final year of his contract.
The Anaheim Ducks currently have 11 players on their roster with expiring contracts so expect them to be very busy at the deadline. The Ducks also are planning on supplementing their young core of Trevor Zegras and Jamie Drysdale, among other talented players.
The Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes have all been linked to Lindholm in the past few days.
