Edmonton Oilers make a 5-year old cancer patients' dream come true
Stories like this is one of the reasons why I love hockey. This week the Edmonton Oilers made 5-year-old Ben Stetler's dreams come true. Ben is a huge Edmonton Oilers fan and he is currently battling Stage 4 brain cancer. So some of the Edmonton Oilers (Connor McDavid and Zach Hyman) did everything in their power to make this experience super special.
The Edmonton Oilers took part in a very touching tribute to the young man and made him the flag bearer for the game against the San Jose Sharks. To take things even further Stetler had the opportunity to line up next to his hero Connor McDavid during the lineup announcement. Stetler also had the opportunity to cheer on his favourite team to a 5-2 victory.
Stetler was given the memories that will last a lifetime, when he was allowed to conduct a post game interview with Zach Hyman.
This entire story is a beautiful tribute to this amazing young man. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ben as he embraces the hockey spirit on this battle.
