GMs around the league are still hard at work looking to improve their rosters as we approach a month until training camps open. The Vancouver Canucks and GM Patrick Allvin are no exception.

Dhaliwal Sports are reporting that the Canucks are looking at UFA Evan Rodrigues as an option to improve their scoring depth. They also believe Vancouver is still in the running for veteran defenceman Calvin De Haan.

Rodrigues is an undrafted 29-year-old right-shot Canadian forward who can play all three forward positions. He is coming off his best statistical season scoring 19 goals, 24 assists for 43 points in 82 games.

An issue that has plagued Rodrigues his whole career has been his inconsistency when scoring at the NHL level. Rodrigues set a career-high in points with the Penguins last season but did so with multiple scoring droughts. He had two eight-game scoreless streaks.

De Haan is a classic, defense-oriented defender with plenty of playoff-ready bite and physicality. His primary issue has always been his health. He's suffered an injury in all but one of his NHL seasons, and several of them have been bad enough to make him miss half a year or more. In 2021-2022 he scored 4 goals and 8 points in 69 games played.
