With all the things going right in Calgary you would think there isn't going to be much to complain about, right? That's definitely not the case with Calgary Flames' Head Coach, Darryl Sutter. Sutter has high expectations, he expects 110% from everyone on the team. Unfortunately it seems one of the leaders on the Flames, Assistant Captain, Sean Monahan isn't meeting those standards. Monahan has been struggling offensive all year and it seems the Flames are fed up.
If the Flames want to go deep and be a true Cup contender they are going to need to get Sean Monahan scoring. Monahan has just 8 goals this season and is a -16, give Sutter's stance on defensive play, the latter number won't make him happy. Recently, there have also been talks that Sutter is preparing to make the forward a healthy scratch.
Monahan was drafted 6th overall by the Calgary Flames in 2013 and is under contract until the end of next season. Monahan's cap hit of $6,375,000 means that the forward has to offer more or he's likely to find himself sitting in the press box.
