Former NHLer admits he tried ripping out one of Sidney Crosby's eyes
Marc Methot was a very hard worker, he was always a competent NHLer, but unfortunately he is most notably known for an incident with Sidney Crosby. During a game 5-years ago a slash by Crosby severed the tip of Methot's finger. The slash obviously left Methot in significant pain crom the incident.
For years Methot carried a grudge over the incident, but yesterday on Twitter he admitted just how much of a grudge he held.
5 years ago, Sid took away a piece of me. A month and a half later in the playoffs, I tried taking an eye from him. And this year, he graciously signed a game stick for me. Water under the bridge now. Class act.
It was well documented how upset Methot was about this incident, but this is the first time he has admitted how far he tried to go to retaliate. Methot also shared that Crosby signed a stick for him and that the entire incident is water under the bridge. It's always nice seeing Crosby treating his fans right.
