Former NHLer thinks the Edmonton Oilers should look at trading McDavid and Draisaitl
The Edmonton Oilers have had limited success in the playoffs and in 9 seasons, from 2014 to 2022 the franchise has made the playoffs 4 times and won 3 series during that time period.
Keeping these facts in mind, Paul "Biznasty" Bissonnette thinks that the Oilers may have to make a drastic choice if things don't change after this season.
Bissonnette thinks that the Oilers may have to trade Connor McDavid if they don't make it any further than they did last season, which may prove difficult as right now, they're vying for a wildcard spot.
Considering all the capital the team has spent to shore up McDavid, Ken Holland hasn't built a contender in my opinion. Jack Campbell was a bad choice when cheaper serviceable goalies like Charlie Lindgren were available and with Evander Kane out, they lose another offensive threat while McDavid continues to carry the team, one has to question if he is tired of the Sisyphean effort all these years.
Better now, to trade him for assets than to lose him for nothing, in 2025-2026.
