The Washington Capitals made the trip to Florida to play the Panthers last night for Game 5 of their Eastern Conference Quarter Finals. With the series tied at 2 games each, last night's game would likely go a long way to determining who would win the series. After the Capitals blew a 3-0 lead, tempers began to flare late and with less than a minute left and the score 5-3 things finally boiled over.
Aaron Ekblad and Anthony Mantha would finally end up dropping the gloves after Anthony Mantha would take one two many swipes at the puck frozen by Sergei Bobrovsky. Ekblad would take offence, pushing Mantha out of the crease area and the two would drop their gloves.
Both Mantha and Ekblad would receive 5-minutes majors for fighting,we while Ekblad received an extra penalty on the play.
With this win the Panthers take a 3-2 series lead, giving them their first lead of the series.
