The Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks just finished the first regular season game in Prague, Czechia. The Predators, overpowered the Sharks, and went onto win 4-1.

The Predators have to credit their depth to helping with the win, as younger guys like Kole Sherwood contributed to the win. And in an interesting context in regards to this game, despite it being the first regular season game, the teams were allowed to not be salary compliant.

How does it work, you ask?

The #SJSharks and #Preds do NOT have to be cap compliant today, despite today and tomorrows games being regular season games.

However, they do have to build their cap compliant roster for Tuesday using only the players who travelled to Europe.

According to our friends at CapFriendly.com, they are only allowed to build their cap-compliant roster with players who traveled to Prague.

Luckily for the Predators, they're already under the cap with $3.9 Million in cap space, however the same can't be said for San Jose.

As Nikolai Knyzhov is current the only Sharks player on LTIR, they will have to figure out a way to get compliant by Tuesday.

Is there an asterisk by cap rules in international play? Asking for a friend Gary.
