Goalies drop the gloves for one of the most disappointing goalie fights of the year
Without a doubt, it takes guts for anyone to drop the gloves and it especially takes guts for a goaltender to do it. As a former goaltender, traveling the distance of the ice knowing you're going to engage with someone is significantly different than taking part in a regular fight. When goaltenders get involved it's not simply a matter of emotions running high, no it's an absolute choice.
During an ACHA game this week two goalies made that decision to drop the equipment. Unfortunately it ended up being one of the most disappointing goalie fights you'll see all year. As the two goalies meet at the blueline they engage, but one quickly loses their footing.
Hopefully the two goalies get an opportunity later in the season to renew their acquaintances because this was a disappointing bout for both men.
