Hockey Canada FINALLY makes the right decision amid multiple scandals
Hockey Canada has been the center of countless controversies of the past 12 months. Throughout the entire process the board, CEO and everyone in between have been resistant of any change. The board has gone on record stating that they have no culpability in Hockey Canada and it's participants actions.
Today though for the very first time everyone involved finally took some accountability. According to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet the following decision was made today:
Hockey Canada announces that Scott Smith is out as CEO and says its entire board has stepped down.
Hockey Canada plans to install an interim management committee until a newly constituted Board can hire a new CEO.
This decision marks the first progress shown by Hockey Canada since the scandals have surfaced surrounding the 2018 World Juniors Team. The new board will be responsible for repairing the legacy of Hockey Canada, especially after the organization has lost hundreds of millions in sponsors.
