It's been a tough year for the Chicago Blackhawks and after another year of not making the playoffs clearly changes need to be made. The Blackhawks are 24-35-11 this season and are 7th in the Central division only ahead of the lowly, Arizona Coyotes.

When teams are struggling rumours run rampant and the rumour mill was going hard for Blackhawks' Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. Especially after both shared their displeasure on Twitter after the Blackhawks' General Manager Kyle Davidson traded Brandon Hagel away to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

There was speculation that the Chicago Blackhawks could trade Toews, Patrick Kane or even possibly both of them. The NHL trade deadline has come and gone but both remained in Chicago for now. But the questions shifted to could the Blackhawks be trying to deal Kane or Toews this off-season?

However, Chicago Blackhawks hockey insider Jon Rosen believes the Chicago Blackhawks have no interest in trading Toews, Kane, or even Alex DeBrincat.

The reason being that the Chicago Blackhawks would be asked to retain salary and the Blackhawks aren't interested unless it's a full trade salary included, if that's not going to happen the Blackhawks don't intend to deal them.
