Hockey world loses another legend - Guy Lafleur passes away at 70
It was a heavy heart that we share the news that the NHL has lost another legend. According to Guy's sister Lisa, who called into a Montreal area radio station, Lafleur passed away overnight.
Lafleur, 70, was battling lung cancer at the time of death.
Lafleur played 1126 career NHL games with 3 NHL teams (Canadiens, Rangers and Nordiques). Regardless of the 3 seasons he played outside of Montreal Lafleur will always be a Montreal Canadien. Lafleur scored 1353 points in his NHL career.
BREAKING: Montreal Canadiens legend Guy Lafleur has died at 70. His sister Lise confirmed the news this morning, writing on Facebook "You are done suffering. We will miss you greatly."
