As the 2022-23 NHL season approaches, one player's name continues to dominate the league's rumor mill. Very few days for by that there aren't rumors of a potential trade involving Arizona Coyote's defenceman, Jakob Chychrun.

The 24-year-old from Boca Raton, Florida has been in trade rumors for most of the past two seasons, with rumors having peeked since the Trade Deadline. Many assumed Chychrun would be dealt at the NHL Entry Draft this past July, but that didn't come to fruition. Chychrun made it clear that he was not interested in being part of another rebuild in Arizona.

However, with just over a month to go before the regular season, Arizona Coyote's General Manager, Bill Armstrong has yet to trade Chychrun. There are reportedly five teams still believed to be interested in completing a Chychrun trade.

The 5 teams remaining in the conversation are the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, Anaheim Ducks, New York Islanders and Los Angeles Kings.

Of all the five teams listed, the New York Islanders are likely to be the most desperate. After a terrible offseason Lamoriello's job is likely on the line if the Islanders miss the playoffs, but with a very weak prospect pool this deal could be hard to come by.

The Ottawa Senators are looking to highlight their incredible summer by adding a right handed defenseman, while the Maple Leafs are looking to try and get over their first round curse. Both the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings have the prospects to get a deal done, but are both taking big steps forward and may not want to remove that depth.
