Jordan Binnington reportedly painting a target on his own back
Jordan Binnington has developed a reputation for trying to fire up his team by targeting a player on the other team. Binnington has drawn the attention of Nazem Kadri, Evander Kane and many others across the league.
Last night after allowing 4 goals in the second period Binnington decided to try and fire up his team by going after Ilya Sorokin. As the team goalies crossed center ice, Binnington intentionally ran into Sorokin as he skated by him. The Islanders in the ice were clearly annoyed by the behavior but nothing came of it.
Today on the 32 Thoughts Podcast Elliotte Friedman addressed Binnington's antics.
Someday someone is going to do something about it, someone's going to call him on it and we're going to see what happens.
It's likely Friedman is right and it's only a matter of time before Binnington gets what's coming to him. During last year's playoffs after being run by Kadri, Binnington was furious, but yet he continues to push people's buttons.
