Lou Lamoreillo is known as one of the strictest most unapologetic General Managers in the National Hockey League. Lou has a set of rules he follows and a code of conduct. Some feel that his policies are dated, but that hasn't stopped Lou and the Islanders from implementing their rules.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lamoreillo made it clear he would not allow anyone to play within his organization who chose not to be vaccinated. That led to some controversy when former 2nd round pick Bode Wilde, opted to forego the vaccine, something well within his right.

Lamoreillo followed through with his promise and decided to not allow Wilde near any level of the organization. Instead Lamoreillo loaned Wilde to the Vasterviks IK of the Swedish league. Wilde put up 10 points in 40 games.

Many wondered how Lamoreillo would address the situation and this past week Lamoreillo made it clear he had no plans to alter his policy.

Lou Lamoriello and the #1slanders will continue to not allow non-vaccinated players to participate within the organization or it's affiliates for the 2022-23 season.

Lamoriello said that the status of 2018 second-round pick Bode Wilde is still "in limbo due to his vaccination status."

It will be interesting to see how Wilde and his representatives deal with this decision by the Islanders who hold his exclusive rights.
