Luke Schenn beats up Jamie Benn for a huge hit on Quinn Hughes
Jamie Benn has always been one of the most game competitors in the NHL. He plays every shift at full speed and he almost never takes a shift off. Last night was another example of that.
During the second period Jamie Benn followed Quinn Hughes into the corner for a loose puck and finished his check. The check drove Hughes into the and down to the ice. As Benn skated towards the center of the ice he was met by Hughes' defense partner Luke Schenn.
Schenn, who is always game himself immediately dropped the gloves and absolutely lit Benn up.
Both Benn and Schenn were awarded 5-minute majors for fighting on the play. Schenn was not awarded an Instigator penalty on the play.
