Jakob Markstrom has been the Most Valuable Player for the Calgary Flames all season. But this playoffs he has been nothing short of spectacular. After two games, Markstrom has posted a 0.51 GAA and .974 save percentage. Game 3 he pulled off the save of the playoffs to try and keep the Flames in the game.
In the second period of Saturday's game the Dallas Stars were throwing everything they could to try and beat Markstrom. Miro Heiskanen picked up a bouncing puck and looked to have a wide open net. Markstrom slide across and made a beautiful windmill two pad stack save.
It was a beautiful save that reminded me of something you used to see in the early 2000s. Unfortunately the Stars would score the tying goal seconds later. Calgary would go on to lose the game but not for a lack of goaltending.
