The Pittsburgh Penguins went to battle with the New York Rangers in a 7 game series. They ultimately ended up losing in overtime of Game 7 to an Artemi Panarin goal.

The Penguins were dealt a bad hand unfortunately in this series after starting goaltender, Tristan Jarry was unable to start the series due to injury. This forced Casey DeSmith into the starters role for the series. But DeSmith would end up leaving the series in game one in double overtime with a lower body injury which forced their 3rd string goalie, Louis Domingue to take over the net.

But to many people's surprise, Tristan Jarry was suddenly made available for game 7. In hindsight that might have been the wrong decision after the Pens coach Mike Sullivan revealed Jarry played game 7 with a broken foot.

Not just any broken foot, but a foot broken so badly that he was forced to wrap his foot in bubble wrap with ice packs.

This is another example of hockey players heart trying to gut out a serious injury to help the team.
