Mitch Marner furious after Nikita Kucherov cuts him with his skate
Last night the Toronto Maple Leafs were blown out by the Tampa Bay Lightning, losing 8-1. During the game an incident happened when Leafs' forward Mitch Marner was moving the puck through center ice when Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov attempted to take the body. Kucherov missed with the initial hit, but Marner was left in considerable pain.
Upon review if you look closely you can see Kucherov's skate spin around and catch Marner's right leg. When Marner got back to the bench he reviewed the play and didn't look happy with his findings.
It was a rough night all around for the buds. After a good first period which saw the leafs outshoot the Lightning . Tampa Bay came out in the second with a vengeance scoring four goals in the period. Things didn't get better in the third as Tampa out scored the Leafs 4-1.
Brutal showing by the Leafs against a potential first round opponent in the Lightning. One thing Leafs fans can be be thankful for is Marner appears to escape any serious injury.
