Montreal Canadiens are no longer black listing Logan Mailloux, giving him a second chance
Ever since taking over in Montreal, Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes have kept Logan Mailloux at arms reach. They've done everything possible to separate Mailloux from the franchise. Both Gorton and Hughes have been reportedly willing to cut their losses on Mailloux.
Before his NHL Draft, Mailloux told NHL teams that he hadn't earned the right to be selected after being charged with defamation and offensive photography in Sweden. The request was not enough for Marc Bergevin, who selected Mailloux in the 1st round. But until this year Hughes and Gorton refused to allow Logan around his teammates.
That changed this summer, with Mailloux attending a development camp. But it appears the Canadiens have softened their stance further as they've finally mentioned Mailloux on their social media account.
The posted video shows Josh Anderson, Nick Suzuki and yes, Logan Mailloux with the country band Old Dominion. The video was taken at the Lasso Music festival and shows the Canadiens are doing far less to distance themselves from their former 1st round pick.
Mailloux is expected to be at training camp with the Canadiens when it opens in a month.
