The Nashville Predators haven't had the best season so far this year, on that most of us can agree and they've just been hit by the injury bug once again with a key forward being out for some time.
Tuesday night, in a 5-4 loss to the Vancouver Canucks, Johansen appeared to take a skate across his ankle, causing him to leave the game and now according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, he requires surgery, this comes after he was seen leaving the arena on crutches yesterday.
Johansen was forced to undergo the surgery to repair the damage after being stabilized temporarily Tuesday night.
Johansen, 30, has skated in 55 games for Nashville this season, collecting 12 goals and 16 assists for 28 total points. Pretty good totals for a team that struggles to generate much offence.
Johansen's injury might actually force the Predators to be sellers at the deadline, something that it seems they have been against up to this point. Unless the Predators go on an extended run this injury will end Johansen's season.
