The Chicago Blackhawks are going to be sellers come the March 3rd, National Hockey League trade deadline. With Jonathan Toews taking himself off the market this season, the focus shifts to Patrick Kane.
Kane's name has been swirling in trade rumours since the beginning of the year and according to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, the New York Rangers are set to make a push for the aging superstar, take a look:
According to sources, the Rangers have signaled they will try to make it work if Kane who has yet to declare his intentions is willing to waive his no-move clause in order to come to New York. We are told interest has not waned in the least since the acquisition of Vladimir Tarasenko from St. Louis on Feb. 10.
That, and not an additional fourth-liner, is the game Drury is hunting. Kane, 34, has been dealing with a hip issue for the majority of the season, but can still be a difference maker on the right team. In 53 games played for Chicago this season Kane has collected 14 goals and 28 assists for 42 points.
The cost of acquiring Kane has dropped significantly as it appears he's only willing to accept a deal to 1 team at this time. The Rangers were expected to be out on Kane after acquiring Vladimir Tarasenko, but according to Brooks, something has suddenly changed in New York and Chris Drury is ready to go all in.
With the anticipation surrounding Kane, we're all waiting for the shoe to drop. it seems as if the Rangers are able to make the salary cap work, they're still willing to make a move for Kane.
