One NHL team has refused to put advertisments on their jerseys
The NHL and their teams are continuing to look for alternative forms of revenue. For most teams that has meant selling advertisements on their jerseys. But there is at least one team that has refused to play along with this revenue stream.
According to NHL Breakers, the Edmonton Oilers have refused multiple offers from sponsors to try and buy jersey space. The Oilers have apparently told the league that "it is not something that is necessary".
So while many teams are selling their souls for a slightly bigger piece of the pie, it appears the Oilers are digging in their heals and keeping their jersey the way many fans prefer them...ad free.
