Rangers star could request a trade after developing a rift with General Manager
Artemi Panarin is a staple in the New York Rangers lineup, since his move from Columbus to Broadway. The major change this year was a post-season run with a major Head Coaching change with Gerard Gallant taking the helm.
However, there may be a rift between new GM Chris Drury and Panarin, which is unfortunate. Panarin has a full NMC for the full 4 years of his contract, which would make a trade difficult. Given, that his usually game-changing self wasn't on display in the 2nd round against the Tampa Bay Lightning, it would make sense Drury isn't fully bought in.
Despite the fact, that he had 16 points in 20 games, which is almost a point per game pace at .8 PPG doesn't seem like a superstar performance, for such a usually electric player.
