Every season the Arizona Coyotes implement a strategy to try and increase a player's value before trading them at the Trade Deadline. This strategy unfortunately comes with risks associated with it, and injuries can make moving these players even more difficult. That's exactly what happened to one of the Coyote's most valuable rental trade chips.

Today the Coyotes announced that defenceman Shayne Gostisbehere is expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks with an upper-body injury. Gostisbehere suffered the injury in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.

Gostisbehere has revived his career since leaving Philadelphia. In 48 games this season he has 9 goals and 29 points while averaging 22:38 in ice time.

The time frame for his recovery will have the 29-year-old returning around the March 3rd Trade Deadline. Gostisbehere is in the final year of his deal with a cap hit of $4,500,000. With the season he is having, teams will be calling to see what it will take for Bill Armstrong and company to pull the trigger on a deal. Unfortunately for the Coyotes, this injury may scare off some teams who were interested in adding him to their lineups.
