Tampa Bay Lightning name honorary captain for tonight, as the team makes a fan's dream come true
The Tampa Bay Lightning did a classy gesture towards six year-old Tripp Nugent. Sadly, Tripp has a brain tumor. Tampa head coach Jon Cooper had a meal with his family and they brought Tripp to Tampa's morning skate. In addition to attending the skate, Tripp will be the honorary captain tonight when Lightning take on the Toronto Maple Leafs this evening in Tampa.
It is always sad to hear on young children dealing with serious illnesses. What a nice gesture Tampa is doing for this youngster. This is also a great move by Jon Cooper. Already beloved in Tampa, spending some quality time with Tripp is another great aspect of Jon Cooper's personality.
No doubt it will be quite a memory for Tripp. I always love to see NHL organizations do nice things for families who are going through tough times. I am sure the Lightning, their fans, and Tripp's family will all be cheering for Tripp tonight. Cheers to Jon Cooper for spending some time with Tripp and his family.
