Tom Wilson bloodies Brendan Smith when he finally agrees to fight him
Last night was a tough night for the Washington Capitals. The Capitals trailed in the Hurricanes 5-1 in the 3rd period and tempers started to rise. Especially for Tom Wilson. Approximately 4 minutes into the 3rd Wilson tried to goad Brendan Smith into a fight but with no luck.
On the play Wilson was issued a 2-minute minor for unsportsmanlike conduct, but the 2-minute break ultimately just gave Wilson more time to grow angry.
A few minutes after Wilson's penalty ended he engaged Smith again, but this time Smith obliged. That was a mistake as not only did Smith get his ass kicked but he ultimately ended up sitting bloodied in the penalty box.
